Day of Drums

Seems to have been a day of looking at drum equipment in one way or another.

Firstly, I've renewed my insurance with Music Guard - removing some instruments from my schedule and adding others, as well as modifying my cover.

Secondly I've been investigating the best lightweight hardware currently available and, although flat or flush based hardware is popular, Yamaha's 650 series seems to be the top buy, with strong, efficient single-braced stands.

Al Sansome was asking after a teacher who teaches Rockschool Grade and I've been able to point him in the right direction... I should investigate Rockschool again.

Finally, the sound edge bottom cymbal arrived just before my appraisal at work and remarkably I was able to stay focussed on work for a few hours until I was free to fondle it a bit more! I'm looking forward to using it for the first time at my favourite gig - The Hind, Leicester.
