Sound Edge

Once I'd got it positioned comfortably on the bass drum, the LP lil' ridge rider cowbell worked reasonably well used to play the rhumba ride pattern. It will sound great eventually, once I've worked on the beat a bit.

I'm very happy with my kit, although I'm considering using a sound edge bottom hi-hat cymbal for extra volume - it has a crinkled edge that gives a louder chip sound when clicked together. I've seen just the bottom cymbal on Ebay from time to time. I'd rather not spend three hundred on a complete set of cymbals. I've tried sound edges before - useless in church but I imagine great for blues.
